Airmen Appreciation Meals:
The 1st Thursday of each month the Magellan Inn Dining Facility offers a
gourmet meal for Andersen's best.
The meal consist of T-Bone Steak, Lobster
Tail, Baked Potato, Rice Pilaf and Vegetables.
Breakfast Bonanza:
The 3rd Saturday of each month, the Magellan Inn Dining Facility serves a
breakfast made for a King.
The meal includes Belgian Waffles, Pancakes or
French Toast, Quiche, Oven Brown Potato and Steak with a host of
toppings...Cherry, Blueberry, whipped topping, powered sugar, etc.
Mongolian BBQ:
The last Thursday of each month, the Magellan Inn Dining Facility features "create
your own stir-fry" using a variety of meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables,
sauces, and spices served directly from a large solid iron grill.
Did you Know? Mongolian BBQ originated with Attila the Hun. Warriors after battle came home to their families and cooked out in the fields. Due to limited firewood, methods were devised to cook rapidly over high heat. This process of cooking became known as Mongolian BBQ. Mongolian BBQ became popular in the Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. Today, it is one of the most popular special programs in the Air force dining facility.
