JOIN THE PARENT
ADVISORY BOARD

The Parent Advisory Board is made up of parents with children enrolled in the CDC, SAP, FCC and Youth Programs. Although they do not set policy, they are an integral group for infusing new ideas and support for our programs. The PAB provides input on parent involvement and parent education programs they would like to assist with and plan activities to say "thank you" to the staff for the great job they do. Although staff are not members of the PAB, they attend the meetings to assist with corroborative activities and to ensure compliance with regulations.

TORCH CLUB

Torch Clubs are chartered small-group leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 11-13. A Torch club is a powerful vehicle through which Youth Center staff can help meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their development. Torch Club members learn to elect officers and work together to implement activities in four areas: services to Club and community, education, health and fitness and social recreation. The Staples National Torch Club Awards are presented annually to Torch Clubs with outstanding programs and activities in the four areas. For more information on the Torch Club, call 366-3490.
